Betsy Dorbian at the Horn Farm in York, PA

Three lucky winners will receive flowers from Shopoke’s own Betsy Dorbian of Betsy’s Flowers!

In 2014 Betsy attended a month-long Environment Literacy Immersion Program at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. This program set the course for the next chapter of her life.  Through a local permaculture group, she heard about an internship experience at The Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education, and her new journey began.

Her first year as an intern at Horn Farm, was focused on organic vegetable farming. The Horn Farm has an active CSA community, and she grew the vegetables for the CSA. It was an amazing experience, and she felt that she had found her “people”!

Year two as an intern, she specialized in cut flowers. Again this was a great experience, and it gave her the opportunity to explore the possibility of creating a cut flower CSA under the guidance of The Horn Farm.

Now she is an “Incubator Farmer” at The Horn Farm.  She is still under their umbrella, but the business is her own. She spent last winter investigating all of the cut flower possibilities, and she is excited to offer them to the public.  She is fascinated by “The Language of Flowers” and looks forward to sharing this information with her clients.

Betsy offers subscriptions, special occasion bouquets, and buckets of flowers. Click here to find out more about her services!

Three lucky winners will also win a gift certificate to Rubicon!!!
